Silence Corrupted

Although the 360 has been hogging most of my videogame attention lately, I made a point to pick up Metroid Prime 3. When people say it's the Wii's best game, believe it. It controls beautifully and I look
forward to opening doors and activating various devices because the motion controls for pulling/turning/pushing the locks just work so well. The overall presentation of the game has been polished to a blinding sheen, making the Metroid universe feel more
populated than ever, with soldiers going about their battles alongside you and speaking to you using honest-to-goodness audible voices. However, Samus has continued to read from Link's playbook and stays oddly mute throughout her adventure. Now, I've heard the reasoning behind keeping
Link silent and, oddly enough, it works quite well in Link's case. But Samus is different. She's a bounty hunter, which I don't think is a profession where the ability to speak is optional. In terms of minimal bounty hunter communication, I feel that Boba Fett
set a good standard and Samus would do well to at least say something in one of her games.
